Our employees have a combined 140 years of insurance experience. This allows us to serve our commercial and personal clients with a comprehensive approach to their needs. Our agency prides itself on being responsive and available, there for you when an alarm goes off at your plant in the early hours of the morning, or when disaster strikes in your personal life.
Our History
My father began LaPlaca Insurance Inc. in 1988, after working at The Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company for many decades, climbing up the ranks and studying for and acquiring his CPCU designation. He worked with P&C and Marine products. His last post there was SVP of Agency Distribution, after which he retired early to start up his own agency.
I joined him in 1996, having worked for CIGNA International for 10 years as a Director of International Marketing. I traveled to 23 countries developing marketing, sales and advertising programs, primarily for our Health, Life and A&H products.
Today, LaPlaca Insurance Inc. writes several lines of business insurance, primarily commercial P&C, but also health, life, disability, and personal lines. We strive to round-out our clients’ programs with one-stop shopping. It pays off, our retention has been consistently in the high 90th percentile. We attribute our retention to our focus on attentive service, proactive approach to every renewal, and the high value we’ve placed on continuing education of products, markets, and the industries we serve. Of course, we truly believe we have amazing employees who really care about their work, our clients, and our agency.
